I want to fuckin KILLBLOODYMURDERTEARLIMBS the neighbors right now. They're playing shitty music loudly right now and the bass thumping is driving me nuts. Almost on a daily basis this has been going on. I mean, I like loud music too but I've actually heard of something called consideration and have invested in some very nice headphones. Idiots next door have obviously never heard of it. I mean, if you're going to fucking play something loud, at least have the decency to play something GOOD. Don't want to be a bitch so I have tried knocking politely on the walls, pounding on them but now we are at the next level. The level of counter-thumping by turning on the AC/DC up, Up, UP, UP!! UP MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!

KEEP GOING AND I'LL UNLEASH THE MOTORHEAD ON YOUR ASS, FUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahem, that is all.

Angus comin' at ya.

Random stuff for today:
- Polenta and Trader Joes's Carnitas = yummy
- A Clear Midnight by Walt Whitman
This is thy hour O soul, thy free flight into the wordless,
Away from books, away from art, the day erased, the lesson done,
Thee fully forth emerging, silent, gazing, pondering the themes thou lovest best,
Night, sleep, death and the stars.
- Art School Confidential Trailor LOL!
Recommended Tunes For Today:
+ Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part I - V)
(I've finally found this song. 13+ mins of kickassness. Epic)
+ Dave Van Ronk - Gambler's Blues
(Greenwich coffeehouse era - should be remembered beyond helping Bob Dylan)
+ AC/DC - Back In Black
(Totally rocked out to this song last night. Outside my headphones I probably looked like some insane kook but inside there was a party goin on!)
+ The Beatles - Doctor Robert
(Boy, what about this forgotten gem?)
+ Bob Dylan - I Want You
(From Blonde On Blonde which I can now never think of without thinking of Jack Black in High Fidelity scolding a customer for not owning a copy of Blonde On Blonde)
+ Eric Clapton - Willie And the Hand Jive
(chunky)
+ Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons - Walk Like A Man
(classic)
+ Dr. John - Careless Love
(The first time I saw him on Austin City Limits (at least I think it was ACL) I thought, for someone who has fat fingers, this guy can really play!)
+ Ben Folds - Landed
(Played this song nonstop on repeat for 1 hour last night. Piano is absolutely mindblowing, the final choir like harmony in the latter part of song. The final extra layer of ba-ba, ba-ba, ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-baba-baba I've landed)
+ Franz Ferdinand - Come On Home
(Is anyone reminded of Ennio Marricone when the listen to this song??)
And of course the obligatory daily dose of Mr. Sexy himself:

Crap. Tons of work. Wasted last night watching old season 2 episodes of House instead of doing work. I'm so friggin addicted to this show!
Tonights episode was a doozy. A refreshing return to all the things that made House great.
maybe more comment about it tomorrow. For now, tired and must whip out a paper by morning.
Recommended Tunes For Today:
+ Smokey and Miho - Ocean In Your Eyes
(Thats Smokey Hormel and Miho Hitori of Cibo Matto - the Two EP's album is so [choose your own expletive -'in] good!
+ Youth Group - Baby Body
(good band)
+ Dinah Washington - Wheel of Fortune
(totally underrated)
+ Nirvana - Where Did You Sleep Last Night
(beautiful cover of this old blues tune)
+ The Beach Boys - Lets Go Away For A While
+ Sleepy John Estes - God Can Use
(House eppy tonight ended with a wonderful Taj Mahal tune and has got me in a blues mood)
+ Carl Martin - Joe Lewis Blues

Oscars.
Are you kidding me?? Crash is this year's Traffic. A fairly good film that will be forgotten 5 years from now. And finally FINALLY Ang has gotten his Oscar, the one they stole from him, ironically by Soderbergh for Traffic a few years back. Other good stuff, Philip Seymour Hoffman who rightly deserved the best acting nod, Rachel Weisz who looked like a wonderful radiant breath of elegance, the fabulously geeky and cute creators of Wallace and Gromit and their bowties - yay (!!) Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton who looked freaky deaky as always, the director who won for Tsotsi for his electric speech, Itzahk Perlman for rollin with the jokes, Ben Stiller for having the balls - as we could very well see - to come out in front of how many millions of people in that green outfit, Lily Tomlin and Merly Streep for being queens (or maybe I should put a capital Q there) of the ball with their delightful intro to Robert Altman, Dolly Parton for those...yeah....and also her delightful performance which was actually quite entertaining in that groovy old fashioned way, and Larry McMurty that impossibly antiquated and geeky looking man next to Diana Ossana who won for best screenplay (Brokeback), and thanked - gasp and applaud - booksellers. Hurrah!
The not so cool - Aside from Crash winning best pic, Reese Witherspoon, who I can't help but feel like the Academy is giving the award to June Carter Cash's character (as in integrity and strength not acting character) rather than Witherspoon's acting which was nice, but its pretty much like Witherspoon's real personality...Felicity Huffman should've gotten it, seriously. It was nice to see Futterman (!) and Jon Stewart with some pretty darn hilarious bits that the audience was too stodgy and self conscious to laugh at.
Sadly not too many of my loves showed up, no movies to promote this year I guess. Will try and wake up extra early tomorrow morning to snag my copy of LA Times before everyone else. Have a feeling it'll run out fast tomorrow.

RIP Mr. Knotts
What a black black day.
Have just found out Don Knotts passed away friday. As soon as I found out while flipping through Time Magazine, I quickly passed from shock to near tears. I grew up on Andy Griffith in sindication on late weekend mornings and the antics of Mr. Knotts as Barney Fife amused me to no end. As a young immigrant girl, his emotive face and physical movements translated beyond language and was a source of joy for both me and my sister to join in. Even now, the show and its characters hold a very special place in my heart - to the point of me devoting an entire college paper on the show. A little piece of the sweet innocent Mayberry life has died today. I have to stop now, I'm getting too upset....

Nothing but love.

+ Ben Folds - Landed
+ Richard Swift - In The Air
+ David Bowie - I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday
